The "Vieille Eglise" (Old Church) of the "Roc du Gour Noir"
Situated at the top of a rock overlooking the river Luzège, it is a picturesque site that you must see. It was near a house called "le Château" (The Castle). To go inside this residence, people had to use a drawbridge to cross a ditch. According to the legend, an underground passage was existing. The castle was besieged and destroyed at the XV° century. Clément VI, pope from 1342 to 1352, was accomodated in this castle.

In 1915, the church was burnt. Today, just a part is remaining. Every year during summer time is organized the "Festival of the Luzège" where you can admire, in a sumptuous environment actors, musicians or story-tellers.

On the route of the "Transcorrézien"
The "Transcorrézien" was a train whose aim was to go from Tulle to Ussel. It was built around 1910. At the entrance of Saint-Pantaléon de Lapleau, you can see two wagons. The Transcorrézien had a stop in the village.

First, Saint-Pantaléon was situated in the Gour Noir, near the Old Church but then it was moved with the arrival of the « Tacot », which allowed the village to develop. The stations where used as meeting points for the popultation of all the small villages around Saint-Pantaléon. The train worked from 1913 to 1959 and modernized the region by opening it up. It was able to carry wood, fertilizers, machines but also passengers.
