There are many castles in Corrèze. With their granit stones and their typical roofs made with a local slate called "lauze", they make the countryside more attractive. Whether they are restored or into ruins, they invite us to an authentic time travelling journey. In a region where the words authenticity and tradition have kept all their senses, it is not rare that we get surprised by the beauty of these forgotten houses.

The medieval fortress of Ventadour was certainly one of the most impressing castles. If you walk in its ruins, you will immediately feel like at the time of the troubadours poets. The bird's eye views on the road from the walls are magnificent. Currently under construction, the castle should be opened soon to the public.
