The chapel of Pennacorn

The chapel was built in 1935 in honour of Notre-Dame de Pennacorn. The atmosphere of the place is very special because it is situated right in the middle of the forest. Today, an association called "les Amis de Nôtre-Dame de Pennacorn" take care of the chapel and its surroundings. Close to the chapel, there is also an old castle and a nice pond.

Its legend

A day of storm, a servant of the castle is going through the forest of Pennacorn. Then he decides to invoke "Notre-Dame de Bon-Secours". Suddenly, a llady dressed in white appears at the foot of a tree. The day after, a statue of the virgin is found at the same place. The lord of the castle tries to move it but every time he suceeds, the statue comes back to the foot of the tree. Then an hermit says that the statue must stay in the chapel Notre-Dame of Neuvic.

Installed in the church of Saint-Etienne, it was stolen in 1983. A copy was sculpted and rests in the church of Neuvic.
