The Roman church, historic monument

Built during the 12° century, it was firstly used as a burial place for the lords of Combarel. Its originality comes from its classified porch. There is a square church tower with an hexagonal roof. The porch, made with dressed stones, is decorated with sculpted characters evoking the vice. There is a man wearing a purse synonym of miserliness, the naked woman representing lust, the peacock symbol of pride, two roosters meaning anger and a Sagittarius. Some magnificent iron patterns of wrought iron with dove heads are decorating the door. The church tower is made with wood, not with stone, which shows the poverty of the inhabitants at that time. Once again, we find grotesque characters. You also have to see the stained-glass windows dedicated to Sainte-Radegonde.

The castle of La Charlanne
We can see it in a field when we take the road leading to the "Ajustants". Situated in the village of La Charlanne, it is dating from the end of the XIV° century. Initially, there were two towers but now, just one is remaining and a roof was placed at its top.
