• THE RELIGIOUS HERITAGE

The department saw a blossom of a large number of religious buildings (chapels, churches...) during the XI° and the XII° centuries. The use of granit stone gives a regional touch to the monuments. You will find here a short description of two religious monuments of Neuvic d'Ussel.

• THE DAMS

Many lakes in Corrèze were formed by the building of different dams. This led to many human upheavals, in particular because .some villages had to be destroyed in order to build dams. However, today they constitute a clean renewable resource to produce electricity without generating carbon dioxide.

• THE CASTLES

In Corrèze, the towers of the castles and the old houses give some particular charm to the countryside. Close to Neuvic, you will see the surprising ruins of Ventadour, overhanging the valley of Luzège or the castle of Mialaret, which is now a beautiful hotel.
